For the year I have so many things I'd like to do with the rats, and if you're curious, here's where you can find out what to expect!
Amber/Silverfawn
Pikachu and Garfield's litter is very likely to produce more Amber babies for the rattery in standard size. I'll also be working this colour into my dwarf rats.
American Blue
With the addition of this colour through the birth of WTCH Sapphire (BSS Clyde x BSS Bonnie), I plan to continue working with it, in both standard and dwarf varieties.
Agouti
Continue producing in standard and dwarf.
Black
Continue producing in standard and dwarf.
Blue Agouti
Begin pairing American Blue and Agouti to produce Blue Agouti. This will be in standard variety only for the time being.
Russian Blue
I will be preserving this gene in the rattery.
Unfortunately, we are down to our last Russian Blue standard rat. But I brought in STEL Pumpkin to help work on Russian Blue in both standard and dwarf.
Russian Silver
I will be pairing American Blue and Russian Blue rats to work toward producing Russian Silver in both standard and dwarf.
Siamese
Working with rats from both Blue Stone Siamese Rattery • Maryland, USA and Stellar Rattery I will be producing Siamese primarily in dwarf, with some standard in the mix.
Silvermane
Continue producing in Agouti, Black, and eventually the blues, both standard and dwarf.
Velveteen
Continue working to produce this coat, in any colour/pattern.
Plus!
I have a fun mystery project in the background! I'm working to identify a coat texture that has appeared in the litter from BSS Buddy x BSS Audrey.
I'll be working more on producing rats with the Dumbo ear set. While I'll still have Standard/Top ear set in the rattery, I won't be aiming for it.
Have you seen Onyx?
That head shape, ear position and shape, those eyes, that cute little bottom....
That little guy is going to be a BIG part of production here. Those are some traits I want heavily saturating my lines. He's GORGEOUS!
As always, I'll maintain a hard focus on promoting temperament, health, and longevity in my lines.
I plan to be even more selective in my breeding requirements to maximize potential improvement and progress.
I am excited to see how the year pans out!
